Hello!
Today we will be discussing the elements of a paragraph.  Here is a visual to help you remember what are the elements of a good paragraph.
Please explain with your own words what is a topic sentence and provide and example of a good topic sentence, either yours or found online.

  1. The topic sentence is that which presents the main idea of a paragraph and which expresses the content of which will be spoken. Also is the one that is in charge of attracting the attention of the reader and this will determine if it seems to him interesting and will decide if he wants to continue reading or not to obtain more knowledge of what is written in the paragraph. For example: 1- My sister's graduation party. 2- The need to speak other languages. 3-Smart and utility of the computer.4-Animal at risk.5-Technology and education nowadays.

  2. A thematic sentence is like a sentence within a paragraph that expresses the central idea of ​​what is being spoken.
    Examples:
    Topic Sentence: There are many reasons why pollution in ABC Town is the worst in the world.
    The topic is “pollution in ABC Town is the worst in the world”.
    Topic Sentence: Teen pregnancy may be prevented by improved education.
    The topic is "teen pregnancy may be prevented"

  3. The topic sentence is the most important idea in a paragraph, the topic sentence help us to organize the paragraph by summarizing information in a paragraph. Also that used at the beginning of a paragraph o tell the reader what it is you are going to be talking about in that paragraph. It is very important because it leads the reader into the points that you are trying to make, without leaving them confused. Example: 1. Education is important in lowering crime rates.
    2. Texting and driving is dangerous.
    3. A River of Legend, a Land of Mystery.

  4. The topic sentence is like the essence of the paragraph, is which explains you what the paragraph is about, the subject of it. It explains you what subjetc are you going to develop in the body of the paragraph and gives you an introducting idea for you to understand better the paragraph.
    Example: Labradors are the most lovely dogs breed in the world.

    For example: The laws here in Panama are fair, as long as the authorities in charge of administering them are not inclined to cronyism or economic.

  7. Topic sentence is the one that details the fundamental idea of ​​which will be spoken in the content of a paragraph.
    For example:•They discover a new reef fish that takes care of their young.

  8. Topic sentences come at the beginning of each paragraph. It is a general statement that introduce the overall idea without going into detail. The topic sentence tells to the readers what is the writing about. I think that it has to be atractive to catch the readers' attention since the beggining.
    Examples: Traffic jams in Panama, a problem without end. English, the way to get a better future. The risks of consume drugs.

  9. The topic sentence is the most important part in a paragraph. It tells to the reader what it is the text or paragraph about. When you write the topic sentence you have to be creative because you need to catch the attention of the readers since the begining.Example: -Dogs make wonderful pets because they help you to live longer.

  11. I think so the topic sentences is a sentence that summarizes the main idea of a paragraph.[1][2] It is usually the first sentence in a paragraph. Also known as a focus sentence, it encapsulates or organizes an entire paragraph. It adds cohesion to a paper and helps organize ideas both within the paragraph and the whole body of work at large. Example:
    Education is important in lowering crime rates.
    Carol never considered becoming a police officer until her sister was the victim of a violent crime.

  12. For me, the topic sentence is like an introduction that, more or less, guides the readers. It is a guide for the reader because it help to understand the topic or theme of the writing. example: the medicines are formulae used to diagnose, to treat and to cure illnesses and they are made in specializing laboratories

  13. For me topic sentence are central sentences within a paragraph wich contain fundamental ideas discussed in paragraph. Example
    Last month I was the cheef of the kitchen, my boos was in venezuela. I had to delegate many functions.

  14. A topic sentences is the most important sentence is a paragraph.sometimes referred to as a focus sentence, the toic sentence helps organize the paragraph,by summarizing the information in the paragraph.
